I’ll be showing some work at the Lost Horse Gallery in Reykjavik as part of the Sequences festival from October 12th-17th. I’ll be in the gallery installing from the 5th till the 12th. Stop by and say hi!
Back in NYC I’ll be playing at Monkey Town with noise master power house Non Horse on October 26th. Four projection screens. Sound scape immersion. Gourmet food. 50 person capacity…. so demand tickets now.
They’re showing the movie Mind Game on September 29th and 30th. It’s FREE (with a $10 minimum for drinks or food). This is a totally great movie. Light, crazy, trippy, fun and deep all at once. recommended by me.
I’ll also be showing drawings and other 2D artwork at ABCnoRio in November. exact date TBA.

Modular synth+circuit bent barbie karaokies+sequencers

Sunday, June 1st, 2008 | Posted in casperstuff

All sounds are generated by the modular synth (right) and two heavily modified barbie karaoke machines which have been mounted into a single housing (top left).

The synth is feeding through and being processed by one of the barbies. The second barbie is generating it’s own sounds. Both barbies are being controlled by the step sequencer (bottom left).
The synth is being controlled by the pulse divider (bottom center) and melody sequencer (top right).

All three sequencers are sync’d together using a common clock signal.

Bent fests LA & NY

Thursday, May 1st, 2008 | Posted in casperstuff

I’m back from the LA bent fest and finished up with the NY one and I’m worn out! It was a whole lot of fun and I wish I was off to Minneapolis for more, but I’m happy to be back in the studio. I raffled off some Speak&Spells, met LOTS and lots of people, played with some awesome hand built instruments and made some music.
Big ups to DJ Tendraw, eraSure, Mimo, phil, Aaron, Dr.Rek, Austin, Alex, Joker, ….um ….who else? You know who you are.

Here’s an awesome picture from the NY fest taken by Christopher McDonald using his amazing LED printer. You really have to see it to believe/understand it. Check out Chris’ fantastic work here

There are a whole bunch of photo sets available from NY and LA and I’m sure there will be a bunch from Minneapolis. Click on the images below to link to the appropriate sets.

Los Angeles

Here’s a set from Univac.

Here are some beautiful pictures of the CRAZY LA venue.

There are lots of videos available as well. Here are two sideways videos from my performance in LA.

on a side note, today was a day of awesome news. I was asked to speak on the Brian Lehrer Show on WNYC FM next month. I spoke with Mark Hosler of Negativland today who told me that they have a new album coming out this summer(!!!) with my circuit bent sounds all over it. so look for that! Also I was asked to speak at Hasbro toys in June for “inspiration day” (how crazy is that?) whoop
