A smashing great idea! here’s to the hope that there will be a large “IN PRINT” run of these. Also, hope it will be available to purchase for those that can’t make it to NYC. i’ll bet there will be some damn cool concepts that could cause ones brain to think in new ways.
don’t know if you could use any of it in the book.
PS your stuff is killer! I saw the interview you did for that viking station in the north lands! everybody else on the subject seems to want to talk artsy-fartsy gobblty-gook! Not, you! Thanks for a voice of clarity in a drug addled, soldering gun wielding world!
In regards to royalties…..
The book will be available online as a free download.
There will be hardcopies available at the bent festival probably for around $5. This money will be used to cover printing and shipping expenses. Everyone who contributes will get a free copy.
If there is any extra money, it will be donated to the Bent Fest to help pay performers, cover venue rental costs, etc…
Hey – amazing concept, I hope to submit something. Just out of curiousity, though, I have to ask – what exactly is meant by “all submissions become property of the Bent Festival”? Does this just mean the specific presentations of the bends that get published in the book, or does it mean the actual bends themselves? Also, what sort of copyright/left is this thing going to use?
(PS – your site and work are truly inspiring! Thanks!)
Please submit something! We need more submissions. This will be an ongoing project, but I’d like to have something for the Bent Fest.
“All submissions become property of the Bent Festival”.
This is just a catch all to cover our butts. It means we have no monetary obligations to people who submit work and that we can reproduce the submissions in part or in full in this and future editions of theBigBookofBends as well as for promotional material. So I might use images from a submission in my next call for entries. It might also be necessary to make some format changes like scale or image resolution for print. Beyond this, the submissions will NOT be altered. I want people to be able to use this book as a way to show off their skills, share ideas and get their name out there.
It is a core mission of this book that people are recognized for their work and that the info provided in the book is free for all to use. We claim no intellectual ownership of the material. We only say that the submissions are our property so that we can offer this material freely to others without getting in trouble.
