Finished Pieces

VTech Apple

I made this piece several years ago before I had a digital camera, so it’s not documented very well. It’s a pity too since it’s a pretty interesting piece. I had a lot of fun with the rounded shape of the apple housing when designing the control layout.

There are two sound circuits in this piece. One is a Vtech Alphabet Apple circuit and the other is from a furby-esque baby toy. Both of these circuits create a similar random note tangent effect when they are glitched. The apple does a few other things too, like rapidly blurting out all of the letter sounds. The joystick controls the pitch of the two circuits and has some added hardware for triggering sounds from the baby circuit.

The baby circuit was also used in the megababyphone and mr.babyhead projects.

You must have Flash 7 to hear the sounds.
